Embarking on his Judo journey at 17, Sensei Kong epitomizes the enduring spirit of this martial art.
His illustrious career boasts five consecutive years as Singapore National Champion, an unmatched feat. Internationally recognized, he earned a Silver Medal at the 1981 Sea Games and represented Singapore at prestigious events worldwide.
Beyond personal accolades, Sensei Kong plays a pivotal role in shaping Judo’s future as a dedicated board member of the Singapore Judo Federation. With a 4th dan black belt from the Singapore Judo Federation, a 3rd dan black belt from Kodokan, and recognition as a registered NROC coach, Sensei Kong imparts his extensive expertise to aspiring practitioners.
In addition to Judo mastery, Sensei Kong’s repertoire includes expertise in Yang and Chen style Taijiquan (under late Masters Tan Gek Ho and Tan Choo Seng), and Japanese Jujitsu (under Master Stephen Chee), enriching his understanding of martial arts and holistic wellness practices. For 47 years, he has been a guiding force in the Judo community, nurturing champions and instilling values of discipline and respect.
